Colleen Andersen

Colleen Andersen has over 21 years experience in technology and entertainment. Her experience includes corporate business executive, startup management and professional musician. Prior to joining TAG Strategic as an Associate in Seattle, Colleen was one of the founders of iBloks, maker of personalized media creation and sharing software and tools founded in 2005.

Colleen left iBloks in 4/06 to co-found EPO, an online legal service. Colleen’s corporate experience includes Microsoft where she was director of entertainment industry engagements. Her Microsoft responsibilities included entertainment strategy development, relationship management, industry evangelism, and business development for MSN, Windows Media, Xbox and Microsoft.

Ms. Andersen also represented Microsoft in Washington D.C. on digital policy matters in DIMA - the Digital Media Association. Prior to Microsoft, Colleen was VP of Strategic Development for MongMusic -- a b2b and b2c music technology and platform company acquired by Microsoft in 2000. Colleen also held senior marketing and general management positions at Sony Music, EMI and Warner Music Groups and was responsible for the development of digital and lifestyle distribution streams including online stores and lifestyle retail CD’s with companies such as Pottery Barn and Starbucks. She also directed the marketing of artists including Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan and Ozzy Osbourne.

While at EMI, Colleen won Adweek’s Online Promotion Of the Year award for executing the earliest, major online music promotion with Coca Cola and CD Now. Colleen was a professional musician from 1980-1989. Colleen’s passion for, and multi-faceted experience in the entertainment business, give her a unique perspective on the issues and opportunities for consumers, technology companies, artists and rights holders.
