The Coca-Cola Company has a long history with creating iconic songs for their commercials and in recent years has worked directly with popular artists to release pop music versions of their jingles. This was new territory for them, and they wanted to have a deeper understanding of where the revenue opportunities and financial obligations were for these new songs, particularly within digital and mobile arenas.

Conducted an in-depth audit of Coca-Cola’s music publishing assets and the internal operations and external partners they used to manage them.

Created financial models for various uses of the songs, for example download sales, internet radio streaming, online video streaming, album sales, ringtones, etc.

Recommended deal terms for Coca-Cola’s contracts with artists creating works for the brand.

Identified areas for improvement and a specific path forward which would increase Coca-Cola’s control over their works and the revenues received from them.
